Detailed introduction
hs-CRP is primarily used to assess cardiovascular disease risk.C-reactive protein is a serum beta-globulin with a molecular weight of 115,000–140,000. It was first discovered in 1930 due to its binding to the C-polysaccharide of pneumococci. CRP is a cyclic pentamer composed of five identical subunits linked by non-covalent bonds, synthesized by hepatocytes, and detectable in human serum, cerebrospinal fluid, pleural effusions, and other body fluids. hs-CRP is the most effective predictor of cardiovascular events in healthy individuals or patients with angina (or myocardial infarction). It is an independent risk factor distinct from lipid-related risk factors and should be measured alongside lipid profiles. In primary prevention, it holds predictive value for populations with normal lipid levels. Combined with traditional clinical diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome, it serves as an early warning indicator for coronary artery disease or acute coronary syndrome recurrence.
▏Intended Use
It is used in vitro quantitative detection of C-Reactive Protein (CRP) in human serum, plasma, and whole blood.
▏Storage And Stability
Store the kit sealed and protected from light at 4°C–30°C. Shelf life: 24 months.
After opening, use within 1 hour under conditions of ≤60% humidity and 10°C–30°C.
