Detailed introduction
FSH is a glycoprotein gonadotropin synthesized and secreted by the basophilic cells of the anterior pituitary gland. It enters the bloodstream and urine via circulation. Like other glycoproteins such as LH, TSH, and hCG, FSH consists of two non-covalently linked subunits, alpha (α) and beta (β), with a molecular weight of 24,000-35,000. The α-subunit is structurally similar to that of LH, TSH, and hCG and is common to anterior pituitary hormones. The β-subunit is specific to FSH. Therefore, the biological and immunological distinctions of these hormones depend on their unique β-subunits. In males, FSH promotes the maturation of the seminiferous tubules and spermatogenesis. In females, FSH promotes follicular development and maturation, stimulates granulosa cell proliferation, induces follicular fluid secretion, and synergizes with LH to regulate and induce the secretion of estrogen and ovulation in mature follicles, participating in the formation of the normal menstrual cycle.
▏Intended Use
It is used in vitro quantitative determination of Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) content in human serum, plasma, or whole blood.
▏Storage And Stability
Store the kit sealed and protected from light at 4°C–30°C. Shelf life: 24 months.
After opening, use within 1 hour under conditions of ≤60% humidity and 10°C–30°C.
