Detailed introduction
T4 or 3,5,3',5'-tetraiodothyronine, has a molecular weight of approximately 776.93 Daltons and is the primary hormone secreted by the thyroid gland. It is released into the bloodstream in its free form. The vast majority (>99%) binds to plasma proteins (bound form), while a very small amount remains unbound (free form).Although bound thyroid hormones constitute the majority in the blood, it is the free thyroid hormones that exert the physiological effects. Their main functions include maintaining growth and development, promoting metabolism, producing nervous and cardiovascular effects, influencing long bone growth and brain development. fT4 is part of the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid hormone regulatory system and plays a role in regulating body metabolism.
▏Intended Use
It is used in vitro quantitative determination of Free Thyroxine (FT4) content in human serum, plasma, and whole blood.
▏Storage And Stability
Store the kit sealed and protected from light at 4°C–30°C. Shelf life: 24 months.
After opening, use within 1 hour under conditions of ≤60% humidity and 10°C–30°C.
