Detailed introduction
T3 is a hormone synthesized and secreted by the thyroid gland (accounting for approximately 20%) or converted from thyroxine (T4) via deiodination at the 5' position (accounting for approximately 80%). With a molecular weight of 651 Da, it is the most biologically active thyroid hormone currently known, being 3 to 5 times more potent than thyroxine (T4). In the bloodstream, 99.7% of T3 is bound to binding proteins; the physiologically active form is free T3 (FT3). Free T3 testing offers better sensitivity and specificity for disease diagnosis, but compared to total T3, it is more susceptible to interference from certain diseases and medications, leading to falsely elevated or decreased results. In such cases, total T3 measurement results more accurately reflect the state of triiodothyronine in the body. Total Triiodothyronine (TT3) refers to the sum of free and bound triiodothyronine in serum or plasma. It is clinically used primarily to assist in the diagnosis of hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, and the evaluation of clinical treatment efficacy.
▏Intended Use
For the quantitative in vitro determination of Total Triiodothyronine (TT3) levels in human serum, plasma, and whole blood.
▏Storage And Stability
Store the kit sealed and protected from light at 4°C–30°C. Shelf life: 24 months.
After opening, use within 1 hour under conditions of ≤60% humidity and 10°C–30°C.
