Detailed introduction
PCT is a glycoprotein with a relative molecular mass of 13,000. It is the precursor of calcitonin, has no hormonal activity, and is the coding product of the Calci gene on chromosome 11. PCT is degraded by specific proteases in the body, and its half - life is approximately 25 - 30 hours. In cases of severe bacterial infections, the plasma PCT level increases significantly, and the degree of increase is significantly positively correlated with the severity of the infection. As a new inflammatory marker, compared with traditional inflammatory markers, PCT has the characteristics of early diagnosis, high specificity, strong sensitivity, rapidity and accuracy.
▏Intended Use
It is used for the in - vitro quantitative determination of the content of PCT in human serum, plasma and whole blood. Clinically, it is mainly used for the auxiliary diagnosis of bacterial infectious diseases.
▏Storage And Stability
Store the kit sealed and protected from light at 4°C–30°C. Shelf life: 24 months.
After opening, use within 1 hour under conditions of ≤60% humidity and 10°C–30°C.
