Detailed introduction
PRL is secreted by pituitary eosinophilic cells, with a molecular weight of approximately 22,000 Da. The PRL molecule contains three disulfide bonds and shares structural similarities with Growth Hormone (GH). PRL secretion exhibits pulsatile fluctuations and distinct diurnal rhythm. Its regulation is primarily controlled by Prolactin Release-Inhibiting Hormone (PRIH) secreted by the hypothalamus, making it the only adenohypophyseal hormone under inhibitory control under normal physiological conditions. Thyrotropin-Releasing Hormone (TRH), estrogen, stress, sleep, and other factors can promote PRL secretion through various pathways.The main detection methods for PRL are chemiluminescence immunoassay and fluorescence immunochromatography, with chemiluminescence immunoassay being the more widely used clinical method currently.
▏Intended Use
It is used in vitro quantitative determination of Prolactin (PRL) content in human serum, plasma, and whole blood.
▏Storage And Stability
Store the kit sealed and protected from light at 4°C–30°C. Shelf life: 24 months.
After opening, use within 1 hour under conditions of ≤60% humidity and 10°C–30°C.
