Detailed introduction
β-hCG is a glycoprotein secreted by placental trophoblastic cells, composed of α and β dimeric glycoproteins. The α-subunit is common to anterior pituitary hormones, while the β-subunit is specific to HCG. HCG primarily stimulates the corpus luteum to sustain estrogen and progesterone secretion, promoting endometrial decidualization and placental maturation. Modern studies indicate HCG is produced by transitional trophoblasts and syncytiotrophoblasts. It proliferates rapidly during the first 8 weeks of pregnancy to maintain gestation, gradually declining after approximately 8 weeks until stabilizing at around 20 weeks.
▏Intended Use
For in vitro quantitative determination of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) in human serum, plasma, or whole blood.
▏Storage And Stability
Store the kit sealed and protected from light at 4°C–30°C. Shelf life: 24 months.
After opening, use within 1 hour under conditions of ≤60% humidity and 10°C–30°C.
