Detailed introduction
"Due to the misuse of antibiotics, the detection rate of carbapenem-resistant bacteria in clinical isolates remains high. In 2024, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) and carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) as among the highest-priority pathogens, while carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA) was listed as a high-priority pathogen. Therefore, using fluorescent quantitative PCR (qPCR) technology to detect resistance and perform genotyping of resistance genes enables early identification and prevention, which is of significant importance.
This kit is primarily designed based on bacterial antimicrobial susceptibility test results. It identifies and detects the five most common carbapenem-resistant genes (blaVIM, blaOXA-48, blaNDM, blaKPC, and blaIMP) in bacteria resistant to meropenem, imipenem, or ertapenem. By doing so, it helps curb the rapid spread of resistant bacteria among patients and optimizes patient management."
